Sondra comes to Bridges after sixteen dedicated years of dedicated of service at the Anchorage School District delivering care to our youth as a middle school counselor as well as an alternative school counselor with a special focus on teen parenting and maternity health. She received her Master of Science from Alaska Pacific University and has additional experience working in residential treatment facilities as well as assisted living settings.
She also holds a special service endorsement from the state of Alaska for school counseling.
Sondra has experience working with individuals in any age or stage of life. She believes individual treatment plans are most effective when designed to support the primary goals identified by the client. Her primary modalities of therapy including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), solution-focused interventions, and expressive art therapies. Family dynamics, adolescents, sexuality, parenting, identity, loss, grief, self-injury, career counseling, and crisis response.
