Nelly Ayala, PMHNP
Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
Nelly is a compassionate and dedicated Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner at Bridges Counseling Connection. She takes a holistic, patient-centered approach to care, focusing on recovery, empowerment, and helping each person create lasting improvements in their quality of life. While Nelly is licensed to prescribe medications, her true passion lies in building trusting, therapeutic relationships that support meaningful, patient-driven change. She believes in collaborating with clients to develop treatment plans that honor their goals, strengths, and personal journeys, while actively reducing the stigma surrounding mental health.
She works primarily with adults who are navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, or the challenges that come with major life transitions. She is especially drawn to supporting those who feel “stuck” or uncertain while striving to make positive life changes—whether that means adjusting to a new job, starting college, stepping into parenthood, or redefining their sense of purpose. Nelly’s ideal clients are motivated to grow, open to reflection, and ready to take the next step toward emotional well-being and balance.
Before joining Bridges Counseling Connection, Nelly worked as a project manager for the State of Alaska, where she led successful public health initiatives that reduced chronic diseases and improved outcomes for individuals living with Type 2 diabetes and hypertension. Her leadership and dedication helped motivate clients to make sustainable, lifelong health improvements—an achievement that continues to shape her whole-person approach to mental health care.Trained in Motivational Interviewing and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy at the University of Washington, Nelly blends evidence-based practice with empathy, warmth, and encouragement. She believes that true healing happens when clients feel seen, heard, and empowered. Through an integrative and compassionate approach, Nelly is committed to helping her clients build resilience, embrace growth, and create meaningful, lasting change.
