Kelly Hale, LPC
Licensed Professional Counselor
Kelly Hale, MA, LPC is an Alaska Licensed Professional Counselor who has been providing counseling services since 2019. Kelly grew up in South Anchorage in the 1990s and returned home in 2018 after spending 23 years away. During that time, they lived in 10 countries and traveled to more than 40, experiences that deeply shape their worldview and therapeutic approach.
Before entering the counseling field, Kelly worked in international non-profit partnership management and grassroots development in conflict and post-conflict regions of East Africa and Central Asia. They earned their MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northwestern University.
Kelly specializes in working with adults, adolescents, and couples, with a strong focus on LGBTQIA2S+ clients, gender-expansive identities, and family acceptance. They served a full three-year term on the board of directors for Identity Inc from 2021 to 2024.
Clinically, Kelly is trained in EMDR and Gottman Method Level 1. Their work draws from psychodynamic, feminist-multicultural, and existential approaches, all tempered with humor, warmth, and a genuine belief in the healing power of connection. Kelly has experience treating PTSD and complex trauma, religious trauma, anxiety, depression, ADHD, grief, relationship and communication challenges, and major life transitions.
Kelly recently joined Bridges Counseling Connections after nearly five years at AK Child & Family, where they worked as a residential clinical therapist supporting adolescents in acute mental health crises and their families. They are excited to expand their work into outpatient care and to continue building long-term therapeutic relationships.
Outside of the therapy room, Kelly enjoys board games, cooking and baking, crochet projects, and reading speculative fiction. They love nerdy pop culture, being a little silly, connecting with others, and laughing often.
