Elke received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master of Social Work from the University of Alaska Anchorage. She was inducted into Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges, Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, Phi Alpha Honor Society, The National Society of Leadership and Success, and The America Hero’s Society.
She has a strong passion for working with children and youth, adults, first responders, service members, veterans and their families. With twenty-five years of experience in the behavioral health field and collaborating with community partners across the great state of Alaska and nationwide, Elke is dedicated to helping clients overcome personal challenges, establish a healthy balance and achieve lasting change.
As a certified Licensed Clinical Social Worker Elke believes in a holistic perspective, offering individualized counseling that is designed to address the needs of the whole self to enhance the mind, strengthen the body and empower the spirit. She works collaboratively with clients to address their identified areas of focus, including depression, anxiety, trauma and general life stressors, and personalizes services based on the individual needs.
She provides an environment of compassion and support, built around the core belief that healing lies within resiliency traits and achievement of personal value. Elke is committed to working alongside individuals and families to learn, grow and thrive, giving them a renewed sense of hope for a better today and tomorrow.
Elke was born and raised in Alaska and feels a great interconnection to the community. She has a passion for volunteerism and partners to offer trainings on Adverse Childhood Experiences and Suicide Prevention to raise awareness and advocate for change, and Team Building to strengthen interpersonal connections and cultivate healthy communities. She spends her free time traveling and enjoying the great outdoors with her beautiful family.
