Dr. Anthony Russo, MD

Physician in General Medicine

Tony is an experienced and pragmatic physician whose practice style is exemplified by “if it doesn’t change your treatment, don’t order the test.” Often the medical presentation and symptoms can confuse many psychiatrics diagnosis. Tony has helped clarify the medical from the psychiatric. Sometimes a simple medical solution can ease a psychiatric presentation and make the work of recovery easier. Having over 60,000 patient encounters under his belt, he recognizes the financial cost and side effects of excessive/unnecessary treatment. His healthcare journey began as an EMT in college and a stint in nursing school before medical school. The variety of emergency medicine had great appeal and led to residency training in EM and maintenance of board certification for over 25 years. Over the past 6 years, he shifted to urgent care and acted as medical director for two clinics.

Tony enjoys skiing and snowboarding with his wife and three children, fitness (CrossFit Level I certified), and metalwork. He’s currently trying his hand at kiteboarding when able to get to tropical waters. He’s also a damn fine cook and mixologist!

My philosophy of medicine has evolved over 30 years and is simply less is more; less testing, less pharma. Everything we order, whether it is a lab, imaging, or medications, has the potential for unintended consequences.
