
Onome Okurume
Advanced Nurse Practitioner
Onome moved to Alaska to work as a registered nurse at Providence Alaska Medical Center. She has a wealth of experience providing care and support to people of all ages and backgrounds in a variety of settings. Onome worked as a critical care nurse, forensic nurse examiner, home health nurse, and psychiatric nurse before deciding to pursue graduate study in mental health.
When she realized something in her manner of care made patients feel they could open up to her, she decided to pursue a career that would allow her to do something beneficial to help support people experiencing mental health issues. Onome obtained her master's degree from the University of Alaska Anchorage.
Onome provides psychiatric evaluations, medication management and some therapy services to adolescents and adults experiencing a variety of mental health issues, including but not limited to depression, anxiety, trauma, ADHD, and Bipolar disorders.
