K. Bryan McInnis, LPC, NCC, CDCI
Bryan came to Bridges with over 10 years experience in the field of mental health counseling. He received his Bachelor’s in Psychology & Spanish from Millsaps College and holds a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Southern Mississippi.
Bryan began his career working in a residential treatment center for adults and directed an adventure based therapy program. After he and his wife moved to Alaska in the spring of 2011, he joined a private practice in Fairbanks, where he focused his clinical skills treating adolescents, adults, couples, and families dealing with an variety of life challenges.
Certain areas in which he has worked more extensively include: anxiety, depression, trauma, grief/loss, self-esteem, life transitions, and substance use. Bryan is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy as well as Brainspotting, an innovative brain-body approach to performance and trauma issues. He believes deeply in the intimate connection between mind, body, spirit and health and enjoys helping others identify and utilize their strengths to overcome life’s many challenge.
